The Mystery of Godliness

Godliness is Christ Himself (1 Tim. 3:16). He is the goal and the example. Our pursuit of godliness is a pursuit to honor Him, to walk worthy of His name, and to be like Him. Christ's only ambition was to please His Father; the Christian's ambition is to please the Lord Jesus in all things through faithful action and a sincere attitude. This series examines how the Gospel should guide our devotion to Christ as we strive to discipline ourselves "for the purpose of godliness" (1 Tim. 4:7).
